Meet your guide, Gregg "Bomar"
Tipton
Bomar
has been an avid fisherman since a young boy where he learned to fish
in the Sierra Nevada's of California. He started guiding in 1973 on Idaho's
Middle Fork and Main Salmon Rivers. He graduated from Colorado State University
in 1977 with a Bachelors in Wildlife Biology. The numerous other rivers
he has guided include: The American, Arkansas, Colorado, Eagle, E. Carson,
Gunnison, Merced, North Platte, Roaring Fork, Rogue, Selway, Stanislaus,
Tuolumne, Yampa, and of course, the Green River. Bomar has over 30,000
miles of river experience and he is an excellent outdoor chef, specializing
in Dutch Oven Cookery. He has even had his recipes published in an outdoor
cookbook.
In
1999 American Subaru Outback produced a show featured on ESPN. Bomar and
the Green River Drifters were featured guests. The new millennium brought
a featured article in the magazine Endless Vacations describing the Drifters
overnight trips in Browns Park. From
the Minneapolis Star to the L.A. Times, numerous articles have been written
about Gregg, his guides and the dedication to quality of service that
Green River Drifters provide.
Bomar has been a member of
the Steamboat Ski Patrol for twenty-five years and is certified as an
Emergency Medical Technician. For a great fishing experience that you'll
